We still got a good list of themes, I think. As usual, I will also try to come up with something new.
But I'm up for anything!

Cliffhanger but taken literally - it's all just images of characters hanging precariously off a cliff lmfao
I still think seasons or landscapes would be super cute, I wanna do themmmm

New ideas:
Crossovers (tv/film /books - specifically not canon 'verse)
Clothes swap (or role swap?)
Pivotal moments (that weren't pictured in the comic)
Colours (each person gets a colour! And has to use that in the illustration somehow)
Sentimental Items

I see benefits and possible drawbacks to most topics.
There are also some interesting new suggestions by Wildfire, though "colours" would require then 12+1 colours - which is manageable, of course, but there would then be different tones (wavelength/hue, saturation, luminance) of basic colours.
"Clothes swap" could be funny. I wonder how far the calendar was strict canon or still-canon-related. How much freedom is there? We all might have added custom random elves for crowded scenes, so that would already not be 100% canon, but even WaRP uses "extras"/"supernumerary actors" (whatever the correct English term is).
"Pivotal moments" sound interesting, but we'd have to assume that something happened behind the curtains, that was not (yet) shown. But then, one has to be careful with the sheer amount of EQ publications, as there is chance that something was actually explained somewhere else.
Sentimental items would likely also offer a good amount of possibiities, from Troll with their gold and alcoholic beverage or tools, to Cutter's NewMoon, a pentdant,...
Only crossovers seem a bit too off-canon for me (obviously). Of course, there'd be a broad range of possibilities.

So far I am quite undecided. :)
But I'll have to see how I get in traction this year, anyway.

Maaan, I love the new ideas, Wildfire!
Crossovers would be so so fun! But I think we had this problem before: there might be copyright issues and I think according to the Pinis the calendar should be largely canon.
Also love love clothes swap and colors! Colors could make for such a unique calendar look.
Wow, it's amazing how you guys still come up with new ideas.
Hmm.. my mind is forming a half-baked idea. Something like the circle of life, accompany a character through their live's story or something like that...

Ohhh yes I forgot about the copyright issue! Nevermind the crossovers then

I do think that the strict canon aspect can be hard to stick with - especially for the 2025 theme I found it difficult to find something that I would find both interesting to draw and adhering completely to canon. Imo it could be fun to slacken that aspect and do a "what if" sort of calendar, or at least a calendar where there's more room for playing with scenarios that could potentially happen but hasn't been depicted in canon

Oh and Treefox's idea about following a character through their life - that sounds really fun, I dig that! We'd need to decide on one character tho, Ekuar style (just saying that Rayek has been in most of the settings cough cough)

I also support being a bit more free from the canon... Would the Pinis be okay with that? It would open many more possibilities.
For a lifecycle theme we could follow one character, but it could be one character for each month showcasing their life in one picture... Just throwing ideas out there...

Brain not functional, stranded at work for 12 hours today due to bad weather. Argh. For all you out there that love winter, please take and keep it. Offhand, I don't have a strong opinion of a theme for 2026's calendar. The themes that have been offered up all sound good, and many of them I could find a subject to fit. I'll try to consider an idea, but we already have so many, and all good!

Both colors and moments in a life are real fun themes!

My idea is is to have a just villain’s calendar. No hero’s. Only having the bad guys, like  Zey, Door and maybe even the shaman or old Gruttlekraw. We could also include characters who have arcs where they are being bad guys, like when Chot has his follower arc, or hell, Rayek’s extremely misguided time travel trying to save the High Ones arc.

Oh, only villains would also be very tempting... Would people be motivated to concentrate on only villains? I would like that.

I don’t see why not, it is a wide theme! And who doesn’t love a good villain  :evilgri Elfqust even has a villain group spread, with humans and trolls, Go-Backs, and then there are the Chosen Eight sans Aroree… you can even argue that Two-Spear is a true Wolfrider villain ( or maybe an antihero, as his motivations were about protecting the tribe, but he and his sister argued about the how.  Also the conflict between him and his sister was partially set up by Rellah and Prey-Pacer.) You could also do a Villain and Anti-hero Theme if villain is too narrow.

Oh man I know exactly who I'd want to draw for villains! Villains & antiheroes would be nice, that would open it up for more characters! Lots of characters have been/could be seen as antiheroes throughout the series, that role would change depending on point of view!

Oh yeah, this is coming together ever so nicely in my head... indeed a wonderful theme. So many characters to choose from.
@ Amberfox: I wish I could protect you from the cold. It's really cold and winter like here as well, everything is so crisp and sparkly! I find it quite inspiring. Maybe I should draw a winter outfit for Treefox....

I was thinking of a brothers-in-all-but-blood theme—the evolution of Cutter and Skywise's relationship. Oddly, we don't get many images of those two in the calendars.

I also really liked when we did the Ekuar calendar, it would be fun to have 12 months of one character being the focus for a second time. Could be their life story as Treefox suggested. ;D

Oh, that also sounds nice. So many great ideas, if you put up a poll, it will be hard to vote...

I will add the following themes to our list of potentials and get a poll up and running:

Colours
Sentimental Items
A Life's Story
Villains/Antiheroes
In All But Blood (the evolution of Cutter and Skywise's Relationship)

While I appreciate the creativity of some of the other ideas, the calendar has to be/stay canon. ;)

Here is the link to the poll.

You can choose as many options as you like but only submit once. I went ahead and made it a poll that a fan could access regardless of them being a member here or not. I'm hoping that David Charles Mizejewski will post the link on the EQ socials to get the whole community involved in the theme choice. ;D

Oh, that's an amazing idea for the poll! I hope we'll get lots of votes. So curious which theme will be the winner.
