Okay, some background on this: this is a survey of all EQ groups/Holts listed either at the Fan Links page at EQ.com (under "Fun Stuff"; last updated 1/2007), or at Afke's page (see link below; last updated 2/2008). I did this as a first round in March 2008, and posted it to the Fanart/Fanfic section of the Scroll... but I think that got lost in the hack, and never recreated.
The list below has mostly been re-checked this week, although in many cases, if a group was already shown to be inactive in 2008, I didn't recheck them. But I went through all groups that were listed as active in 2008, to see if they still were. In many cases, though, it can be hard to tell how active a group really is.
For that reason: if a group is listed under the Inactive, Can't Tell, Gone/Broken categories, but you know that they are active and you know of a recent URL or contact info for them, please just post a reply here! I will be happy to change a group's status if we get confirmation.
Also, of course, if you know of Active groups that aren't listed here, please post! I'll happily add them! (I have a short list that I am currently double-checking on, so that I can figure out where to add them.)
There are two categories that I haven't yet rechecked, but that I will add as soon as I do: Non-English-Language groups (Afke has a longer list that I still have to try to go through), and Offline Holts. So if you don't see active groups that fit into one of those two categories, feel free to post here.

The goal is to try to create a list of active groups in 2011, so that people looking for such groups can connect with them.
For those folks connected with the active groups -- I'd like to try to gather a little more info on them. Not a huge blurb, but enough to give people browsing the list a sense of what the group is like. What kind of elves does it have? What is the style of play (RP, pbp, stories, etc.)? Adoptables only, or is there character creation? Any other vital info? Please feel free to leave that info here in a reply or PM me.
