Advertising sucks, 99% of the time. I don't like sites with ads anymore than the next person. 

Unfortunately, however, websites can cost a lot of money to host, and image-storing websites can be especially pricey, because of storage costs.

If/when this site becomes popular, the traffic and gallery storage will push the boundaries of what a normal hobby-site costs. At that point, we would have the option to either include advertising to cover those costs, or use a cheap webhost. Unfortunately the latter would result in slow load-times and a generally unpleasant user-experience.

We won't do that. Otherwise, what is the point of having the site?

So in the spirit of honesty we wanted to lay it out on the table right now that if this site starts to cost more than your average hobby-site ($10/month), we will be adding ads to it.

Nothing pop-up.

Nothing animated.

Nothing tasteless or jarring.

We'll do our best to keep it discrete and choose those we allow based on appearance and content, but any way you cut it, it'll still be advertising.

I promise you, though, that if we do ever win the lottery, we'll take 'em off.
