I'm 28 now - I started reading ElfQuest in grade 7 when I was 15. One of the first new friends I had made saw me drawing elves and faeries during a math class and said "Have I got something for you!" I read Fire & Flight every break and spare second I had and then proceeded to draw elves during class when I couldn't get away with reading about them. She loaned me OQ 1-5 hardcover editions, and I started collecting them for myself soon after I have folders full of characters we designed together. Highlight of my ElfQuest life - meeting Wendy Pini at FaerieCon a couple years ago, dream come true!

Thank you for sharing! You did a great job on crowds and mood and emotions in your comic for sure! You could also really see the thought in the lighting. I loved how detailed the curly hair was and her lips as well - lots of emotion there! It's so satisfying to see finished products

Fantastic, amazing light! Thank you so much for sharing This series of paintings has such a complete other worldly (or world-within-world) feeling too it, it's very easy to immerse yourself into. Very inspiring!

This is the best fanfic I read in a long time! The title caught my eye and I've enjoyed everything about is thus far! Is it still in the works? will there ever be more? The characters are well written and the adventure contagious! I do hope you'll continue it one day

« on: August 18, 2011, 01:52:54 AM »I had the same problem with Aroree! I thought the action pose was too small, but kind feedback from Windrider assured me it was okay. I really like the composition of my Aroree pic, so I was happy to be able to leave it like it was at least for now. There definitely might come the tome when I want to do it all over again...
But for me it helped a lot that I sketched the whole composition on a square paper beforehand.
Same here -- I think seeing the square space that you have to fill puts you in the right mindset for fitting everything in and making it flow. Good luck!

« on: August 12, 2011, 02:54:09 PM »I just finished the sketch for my Nightfall full body shot and was flipping through the pages of the last issue of OQ. I couldn't help but being drawn in again and finding myself tearing up at the end. How can it be that it manages to do it after reading it for the millionth time? That truly is the magic of Elfquest for me, I guess.
I had the same emotions flipping through KOTBW every time each thinks the other is lost and then at the reunion... Elfquest is truly wonderful story telling at it's best.

« on: August 05, 2011, 04:54:20 PM »Hmph .... I just realized how amazing awful my action shot is (aside from the face and head). After I started putting colors down. I've got a better idea for a pose, but it's going to be fun trying to salvage the part I like since it's on 5 different layers.. I totally know what you mean!! I worked on the action shot yesterday (which I liked) then worked on the portrait which just didn't look right and only because I'd been sitting infront of it for too long.
