I did the same at first, Faerydae, but I wanted to paint more realistically so I forced myself to stop using lines. Not that I was great with them in the first place, but now I can paint better than I can draw. And by paint, I mean paint in photoshop.

Just a question... are they all required to be done with lineart? I prefer to sketch and then skip the lineart all together, paint in my colors, and then delete the sketch. I'm just curious how uniform this all has to be.

Maybe yes, maybe no. I think there's not one of us who doesn't have our own favorite characters, situations, or opinions about what they want to see in the next callendar. Seeing what other people write might just give us more ideas!

As far as I have been told about watercolors, you want to get yourself a nice flat board and some green masking tape and tape the paper to the board. I guess that's supposed to stretch it and keep it flat. Also, on a couple of my watercolors I've tried adding salt to the water, and it seems to help the paper not warp quite so much.

I feel... busy. All the time. I'm in a hellish sort of semester in school and I'm there pretty much every day of the week (including weekends) even though I only have class on three days a week. Also haven't had time for pretty much anything at all, which is why I haven't uploaded anything recently. Hey, are we allowed to put up our pictures from the calendar yet?

That would be United. The same United that's featured in such songs as, "United Breaks Guitars". >.<

No, there's absolutely no snow. And despite the clouds, it's pretty clear. Our plane broke. And they said they were going to fix it, and they didn't. Big fat liars, all of them.

You know what I hate? Going to the airport at 4am, to be told the flight was delayed every two hours for the next ten hours, only to be told that the flight was cancelled and to come back at 4am the next day. THEN, showing up the next day to be informed yet AGAIN that the flight was cancelled and that you can't fly out until 3pm that afternoon. So... spending two days straight in an airport, one of them being xmas eve. And granted, while this doesn't happen very often, it's happening to me right this second, so... yeah. Hence the b*tching.

I emailed you (or noted, I can't remember) and mentioned that I would be happy to try my hand at it, though I'd have to know who I was writing about first.

I really wanted to do a second entry but I don't think I will have the time unfortunately. I've got a project/commission list a mile long already so I'm probably not going to be able to get to it. :-(

I prefer comics, but usually what happens is that if I like a webcomic I will buy it in book form as well just so I can have it.

Well I'm looking forward to seeing what it will be about! Also I noticed that they have five fingers instead of four. ;-)

I remember when I was young wanting to be able to draw like Wendy, but I never even considered working for them... as an eight-year-old I think I just assumed that she did all of the artwork herself! Are you planning on using her world of two moons or creating a new one for your story? I don't know if that's even allowed... Anyway, I can see the differences between your work and hers, but it's not a bad thing. ^__^  I'm looking forward to seeing what you come up with!

I remember buying Elflord when I was younger and being disappointed in the fact that it was not cannon elfquest as I thought it was, and also that the art was not nearly as good as the EQ comics.

I finished the one, and I don't think I will have time to do a second one. I've got a list of projects that is at least ten items long. :-(  Which is sad because I wanted to.

I know if it were me, I would want someone to come and ask permission from me to use my artwork anywhere, including icons. Others might feel differently about that though.

The best example I could find of "old work" I think is from 1997, so I might redo that one! >.<

Does this mean that this is open again? I'd love a picture of Dawnsong if you have time, but I know how lengthy request lists end up getting.

How long is it usual to wait after sending in a PM with a submittal for the calendar? I still haven't actually sent my picture to anyone, but I did send the PM as per the instructions.

Thanks for that! ^__^  Do you know if there are any particular stories that have been written about Moth? It would be nice to see how people have played her in the past.
