Well, my point of view is that THIS IS the main reason why she feels that thirst /as paradoxical as it may sound/. She cannot accept it and this is the stumble stone which she has to get over if she wants to be loved. I suppose that this is old memories and pain in the deepest parts of her soul does not allow her to be warmed by healing beams of Love. She is able to burst these old dark fetters, open all the doors of her tired Heart and extend the hands towards the long-awaited all-forgiving Source.

I think that EQ hides concealed meanings. Maybe Madcoil symbolizes most dreadful innermost fear of a person, which everyone faces in its life and decide to live with it further or disperse it.
...so I have to admit that this version of terrifying creature means my biggest fear.
