In Skywise in the Stars - Posted Dec 29, 2015
Aww, very nice Skywise expression, here! That's really him. I also like the hints of nebulae in the background, and not just stars.
In Shayasanya 2015 - Posted Dec 29, 2015
Great combo of walking motion with a suggestion of a sinuous gait; it makes her look very confident, as does the expression! Really like how you handled the various blacks of the costume, and the white of the hair.

Love the very fluffy light hair contrasted with the very dark and sleek pants. I really want to see this guy as a front-man for an 80s-revival hair-metal band.
In Windblaze - Posted Dec 29, 2015
CURLS!!! I really like details like the metal concha belt, and the necklace and head-piece, that add to his, er, minimalist costuming. ;-)

That *is* a heck of a name! I'm glad I don't have to type that often... She really came out wonderfully. I love the design of her clothing, and I'm also a sucker for short curly hair on women. Her pose gives her a lot of personality, as well.
In Winter bonding - Posted Dec 29, 2015
I like how this came out, particularly with the slightly ominous background. And reading your other comment -- brilliant idea not just to do a winter outfit for Beyond, in blues, but to invert his hair color for maximum color compatibility! I wouldn't have thought to do that. It really does look very good.
In Venka and Two Edge redux - Posted Dec 29, 2015
Really nice coloring, especially on Two-Edge's hair; and really solidifies these two nicely. I often find that the energy and expression of my sketches don't translate as well when I ink something, but you kept the feeling here very well!

Your coloring works particularly well with Tamarien's style!

Indeed, this is the first time I've really drawn a human in an EQ context. (Thanks! I really liked how it came out, too. Stacy's digital coloring, I think, makes it even more atmospheric than I could have done; at least, than I could have done easily. I would have had to lean on some digital effects as well.)

Thanks! Ha ha, yes, Treefox -- that pic of Bearclaw and Joyleaf is a favorite of mine, too (for obvious Bearclaw-fan reasons ), and I was trying to make this stand out from that one. (After decades of reading EQ and admiring all of the art, it's all too easy for a particular panel or composition to get lodged in your subconscious. I sometimes really have to think about a composition and try to make sure that I'm not unconsciously copying something I saw from the comics.)

Thanks! I can't take credit for the design of her costume, though -- her owner Linda designed it, I'm just drawing it. It *is* fun to get to play with flying poses, since you don't have the same restrictions as characters that are land-bound. I guess what I ultimately didn't like with this attempt was that I felt like the angle of her outstretched leg didn't quite work, or something. It's hard to put my finger on.
In Dawn Hunt - Posted Aug 22, 2014
Thanks, guys! Once again -- the Copics really only get me so far, and end results like this are a combo of the base hand-coloring job, and using various brushes and filters in Photoshop. So here, a lot of the lighting and lavender tones, the mist and the sky, are all PS.
Dreamcat -- heh, I think it would work well either for dawn or twilight. I have a hard time deciding how to differentiate them sometimes. Personally I tend to use more pink for dawn, and more orange for sunset, but in reality, those colors are appropriate to both times, so it's really up to the viewer.
In River Twine 2014 Calendar - June - Posted Aug 22, 2014
Thanks, folks! Yeah, the safety aspects of this game have definitely occured to me! Perhaps we will assume that wolfriders are just so nimble that even in falling, they'd be able to twist and avoid the rocks, mostly.
Dreamcat -- of course! I'd love to try some kind of collab with you sometime!
In Dreamflight and Newt: Bird-feeding - Posted Aug 22, 2014
Thanks, everyone! Dreamcat -- oh, I have problems with wobbly brush ink lines, myself! Sometimes I can control it, sometimes not. That's partly why I always scan my inks and do some clean-up on them in Photoshop, before printing them out and then coloring. (The other reason is that the laser-printed lines won't smear at all, and I can put the linework on a specific kind of paper that's good for coloring.)
Amberfox -- it could be autumn, although you can't quite know from Newt's outfit. He's very covered-up because he really is an albino (thus his skin is just a bit more pink-toned than Dreamflight's), so he covers up whenever there's the least chance that the sun could hit him.
In A Gift from the Sea illo - Posted Aug 22, 2014
Thanks, guys! Oh -- no, the background mist was done entirely with Photoshop brushes. Although, the water was done with Copics.
Yeah, in the story, the boat's line was originally tied to something on shore (or another boat, I forget which). But Honey's prank-minded half-sister Flash cut her boat's line, and the fog enveloped her rather quickly. They sent the tribe's only glider out to find Honey and tow her in, and this chance encounter happened just before Stormdancer located her in the fog.

Hah! What a neat idea for a project! I can definitely "see" the original in my head to compare this to, and it came out great.
In Pip - Posted Aug 22, 2014
Very poignant idea! I particularly like the way you've used some under-lighting to emphasize the underwater setting.
In Disney elf Villains 2014 - Posted Aug 22, 2014
Ha ha! Lovely! I like how well this fits Venka's somewhat reserved nature. Her expression is particularly good, with that slight half-smile.
In Proud Grandparents - Posted Aug 22, 2014
Oh, I really like the idea behind this! And everyone looks gorgeous -- Brill and Krill look lovely, I really like the difference in their poses, with Brill's seeming so graceful and Krill's a bit harder-edged, which goes so well with their personalities. Moreover, I really like what you've done with the parents' spirits; good technique! It's cool to think that this is yet another benefit of the elves' increasing mastery of the Palace. Finally, little Khorafay is just darling!
In Skywise - Posted Aug 22, 2014
Just fantastic -- so quintessentially Skywise! As always, your coloring is lovely -- the clouds glowing with the moons' light is a wonderful way to treat the night sky, and I love the idea of combining the rising fireflies with the light of the stars in the sky. But overall, I also just really love that despite it being a night scene, lit by moonlight and starlight, there is something very warm and inviting about it, instead of cold. I think that goes well with Skywise's happiness.
