Illo for "Initiation"

Did this as a trade with Lyn -- this is an illustration for her story "Initiation", about her character Beetle (foreground) and Thornbow. I think it could equally well be titled "Better Flirting Through Archery". Beetle wants Thornbow to make a new bow for her... and that's not ALL she wants...
Still showing the effects of my recovering right hand/wrist, doing this piece involved a lot of shortcuts with the background. Hint: use brush-tip color markers to draw one or two leafy branches, and one puffy bush, and then use PS to multiply it into something almost like a real background! Voila.
Pentel Pocket Brush-Pen linework, Copic Marker coloring, LOTS of after-effects in Photoshop.

a cute scene, I think ...
you made the background very well, and the bow is just real !!! hehehe ... I can easy see those two elves together with some cubs ...

I think that background looks amazing, I could never accomplish somethig like that!... I like all those leaves and all that green... hte picture is shaded nicely too!..
