Czarine, so happy you made it! Your entry, of course, is amazing! If I had drawn Old Maggoty for the Elders calendar it would have looked very much like this (I don't have your skill though
 ). I love Maggoty and your witch-y, cackling version of her! The composition and lighting are again perfect! Man, I don't know how you make it look so effortless. Love the addition of gambling Bearclaw in the background. She almost looks like she's brewing something to get Bearclaw off his winning streak...

Damn it, Bearclaw! Stop stealing the show! Love his addition and he looks quite gorgeous in all his bad boy-ness. This is great! I agree there is a definite witchy quality to Old Maggoty in this, and it fits her perfectly. I can imagine her cackling just under her breath as she adds the dead lizard (seriously, love the X eyes), her eyes peeking over her shoulder. The lighting and coloring are very dynamic in this, so dramatic! You know the brew is intended for that upstart wolf chieftain! Somehow, I suspect Bearclaw can handle it. Great claws on our ole brewmaster. Love the addition of the ingredients surrounding her, including the frog (hope it's not Laluna's friend!). She must have already used eye of newt before you drew this. As always, gorgeous illo! You have such skill with your art, both rendering characters and use of color and light. Chalk up another envious viewer! More art! NOW!

I would not have thought that I'd ever label a troll so quickly as "gorgeous", but she turned out really well. He expression, the cooking, the pinkish light on her face, her glance to the side.
Well, Bearclaw, I think you're in for some of our best broth! But there he is, gambling as usual, oblivious to the meal that is prepared. She nearly looks like she's pondering if he'd make a good addition to the soup... Very good work! |

Yoooo this is cool! The pink smoke grabbed my attention immediately, but looking closer I'm really fascinated by her fingers - gnarly and detailed, really cool. This is such a great scene!

I always look forward to your illustrations Czarine, and once again you just knock it out of the park! And. Ah, this is just perfect for October, with the witchy vibes! The X eyes is *chef’s kiss* I also dig the pink smoke, and Magotty’s sinister expression, she is plotting something! Great addition to have Bearclaw gambling in the background, it is so much fun!

Your art is allways so brilliant. I can not say how much I love your pinkish and violet shading but here it is set in the perfect place!
What is she cooking? With this small look to her side? To Bearclaw? The knowledge that he is there? Love the Watcher Troll. He seems just doing his duty. So beautiful. |
