The lighting in this is wonderful, I can almost feel the warmth from the torches. All the little details add to the story, it's like being there to hear it. Nonna and Adar doing what they do best is a great way to start the year don't you think?

Christoph, you always have such an amazing skill with light and highlights that really bring your art to such life! I love the mood and atmosphere in this one, so warm and inviting. I can just hear the amazing tale told by Nonna. Enjoy the kids in this as well. They don't get much attention, but they nearly steal the show in this. Great work as aways!

Oh wow, this is a wonderful way to start the new year indeed! You are such a skilled artist and it shows again here in this picture of two characters that I really love. The lighting is indeed wonderful. So warm and inviting. Nonna and Adar look wonderful als elders. I love that they have become teachers and also that you brought the kids they have taken in as family. Just a very wonderful piece of art to start the new year.

The way you use light is amazing. The light dancing around Nonna and Adar, the interactions between the children, the wee Cutter on the wolf! It is so great! I love that they are telling thestory to future generations, teaching them about their history.

Nice to see also some human characters in the collection, telling the stories of the forest- and mountain-spirits in the fireshine. And they do have a little riding straw Cutter. That is some cheerful child down at the bottom! I also like the skin painting with the Gilders.

What can I say, every year you outdo yourself, Christoph. This is a well deserved first month (aka openng page) of the calendar. I wonder if anyone would ever beat you to it, one year.
I am really amazed by how well you did the light and shadow play of the flames. Very athmospheric picture that tells a story by itself. |
