Made a figure sketch that just screamed Silverfish to me, so I finished him with my promarkers. Had to finish my sweet boy.
Made in a brown sketchbook that worked surprisingly well with markers, no feathering and doesn't eat the pigment, too bad I only got two pages left This is actually the first time I really tried to mix color pencil with alcohol markers. Used to be a snob about it, but I am better now.

Oh, he looks so burly and rather handsome. Such a cool pose it seems to me that he's just getting up. Love the colors and the colored paper you used.

I love the way the colours look on the brown paper.

Oh I love discovering new papers that work with markers, especially coloured paper.
Opens up so many extra possibilities. Just mix everything, use everything you've got! Leads to great things, as you can see. He looks so serious, hope he's not too worried! |

Thanks guys! =D Yeah the brown paper really shines through. Some of the spots are from dousing it in hairspray, works great at fixing oil pastels. I guess it intimidates me to use markers on brown paper, it sometimes really soaks up the pigment, but this worked really well. Too bad I only discovered it here at the end :

Practice builds skill and a comfort level to experiment even more. I admit while I've played around with various paper and media, I still tend to be a bit hesitant to experiment with new things. Really should get over that. So, great job! This reminds me so much of a woodworking, and the colors you've used against the brown are perfect for it. Silverfish looks contemplative to me, and I can't help but wonder what he's thinking. You're making me think I need to draw him...
