Awwww! Awww! This is so, so sweet! I love how you can feel the relaxation of this cute family to finally be in a safe environment. This really looks like an illustration from a book. The background is beautiful and so inviting to explore, yet you managed to draw the gaze to the characters. Lovely use of the 21 items as well.

A very blithe scene, truly a Sorrow's End. Is that little Wing? He looks like he's just discovering the world. And Newstar's is out to admire all the beautiful petals. But be careful, Newstar, not to get stung by the cactus plants!

Sorrow's End truly was the place where they all could finally let their guard down and just enjoy life and everything in it.
You convey this feeling very well in this picture, from Newstar exploring, to them sitting out in the open and in daylight no less, and Woodlock looking totally relaxed and laid back. |

I'm happy to see some traditional artwork here. Nothing wrong with digital but I do miss all the watercolours and marker artwork that we used to have in the calendar. This is a nice little family scene but I'm just obsessed with the cactus that Newstar is looking at. Haha...the rest is great too but the cactus... needs its own calendar.

Twelve months of cacti, now that is a theme, huh? I dig it!
I also dig this. You've invoked just how bright Sorrow's End really is, and as afke says, how they really got a chance to be themselves and free in the desert. Free in a way they were not in the forest. I also love the use of watercolors. |

Wow! So much detail in the background, and the Sun Village no less! I'm not much for background myself, so I can envy and respect those that do such a terrific job on it. Love seeing Newstar and her family, and they are so content and peaceful here. I am also very fond of traditional media, and it's wonderful to see it from time to time. You've truly done a great job with it and the gentle family.
