Cutter action shot sketch
by Treefox
As Startear, Wildfire and I were discussing about the loss of a certain flow in processing a sketch to a colored drawing I wanted to post this sketch from way back in 2012. I think this sketch is somewhat more fluid than the colored final product...

I often think the loss of dynamic may come from the missing lines next to the proper ones or choosen ones for the inking. Here I can see his right leg in another ankle and it seems to move. The pose changing lines looks often like moving lines(?) Like an Animation? Don't know how to explain. Like it is in a moved blur. That makes it more fluid for me.
I know that fact totally well and often regret inking my work. Thats a very pretty Cutter sketch btw. Hm~jummy. |

Ohhh yeah I definitely see what you mean! He's very, as Yavia says, animated in this sketch Some people can still maintain the fluidity in their inks *sigh* One day I'll learn proper lineweights
The coloured version is still lovely though |

Thanks guys! I think it is exactly as you say. The sketch is more animated, as I am using bundles of lines to find the correct shape it's really such a wild drawing process. Deciding on the right, finite line during inking is so difficult for me.
But you are right! We can learn to do it! I always adore afke 's art for the gorgeous inks! |

I always love your pencil work, the lines really add to the speedblur effect that makes this sketch look so animated.

Ah, it has been open so often in the tab sessions... and still not commented. :p
I too like it. It has a flow, dynamics and he looks quite happy and ready for some mischief. |
