Thanks a lot! Most scenes were indeed intended to be key elements in Rayek's life.

You really illustrated the contrasts within Rayek very well. The colors are wonderful indeed. My favorite of must be him being shocked by his own reflection. Very powerful!

I am happy to read that you people like the colours. I was not sure if they aren't too vivid. There is contrast also within them (more pare, pastel and vivid ones) and each single scene was okay for itself - so I thought. But when I put all of them together in one (somewhat overloaded image?)... I wasn't so sure anymore.
Yes, the crystals are meant to be Palace-crystals and their magic suddenly brings als these memories of the past back, caused by the sudden reflection in the water bowl. I shall upload that description for the scenes later and I also might put the single scenes up separateley. So e.g. Treefox can enjoy the surprised one in its own glory.

I'm fond of all the entries this year but I think this one would have to be my favourite. I'm not really a Rayek fan but this submission was so well thought out and executed. Plus rainbow-tastic colours. I think it's just splendid!

Maybe you should try drawing Rayek, especially the joyful or mischievous one (Snowball -> Ember) - you may like him better afterwards.  By the way the single scenes and a description should be uploaded now. |

Aaaaaw, poor broken hearted Rayek. And hey, the Rayek who looks into the water bowl has the clothes of his youth. Does he look into his future?
And the magic bolt blasting and flying one has different clothes than in the comics. Does he come from an AU? nice picture. |
