Look What I Caught!

A piece done for the "Age Swap" art contest (adult characters as children, or child characters as adults). Here, we see the now-adult Chicory as a wee little child, with her father Blacksnake (mine) -- demonstrating very early her fascination with all things muddy and marshy and creepy and crawly!

A note about the bullfrog: everyone says, "OMG that frog is HUGE!" Bullfrogs can grow to a body-length (not including legs) of 7". In comparison with little Chicory here, that would make her about 21"-24" tall. But, these ARE wolfriders -- Blacksnake himself is only 4'4" tall. Having an elf child be half that height makes sense. Elf children really are just TINY! And I find it fun to put them against things that emphasize that.

This was done with black Prismacolor pencil on plain paper, scanned and then printed out and colored with Copic Markers; ground done in Photoshop.

I just so love the look on Chicory's face, just goofing around, while the frog seems to think "Damn, got caught again..."

I really understand that you want to put things in that just give perspective to how small the elf cubs really are, anf I must say, that frog is just too cute!... always loved frogs!... nice work on coloring the frogs legs, the shine looks like it should!...
