Luna's old mermaid sketch

Found Luna's old mermaid sketch from 2003... it was badly faded and worn so I decided to re-touch it a little! I never have drawn Luna's character Ambrella, so here she is with weird mer-Rayek!... ballpoint pen coloring, yet again...

Poor Rayek just can't seem to get a break (but at least he didn't get a face full of wet blonde hair). He looks REALLY unhappy about being a mer-elf...or maybe it's because he's underwater. Either way, that is one UNHAPPY Rayek. I honestly can't believe you achieve the amount of depth you do, especially on skin, with ballpoint pens! You have really brought this to life, it looks amazing. Normally I dislike the color combination of green and purple, but Ambrella is lovely. Luna's sketch is terrific and your coloring is wonderful.

Haha, he's really grumpy, isn't he? But maybe he's been having a bad day and Ambrella is actually trying to cheer him up? She's seems so beautifully weightless.

Ah! I remember seeing that sketch! Nice to see it retouched, I always thought it was a pity it was unfinished.

sadly, Luna's original had gotten a bit banged up over time, seen better days that picture!... but I saved what I could...
