Flower maiden - 2015

Berit tries painting with acrylics!...
And sucks very hard at it! Well, this is the best I can do so far, I suppose!.. found a piece of cardboard and wanted to try painting on it... and this time I'm not using Rayek as guinea pig for my sudden art tests!... well, this doesn't look like much but was fun to do... so might do something similar soon! (if I manage to find a way to upload it to the net, scanner is dead so I used my mother's phone to take a photo, had to try many times to get it right)...

Once again, Berit is braver than Amberfox using new media on new media. I don't believe I've used acrylics before, so I'm not sure how hard it is. Well, I may have used them ages ago for classes, but didn't work with them much beyond that. Either way, I commend you for your bravery, and I think you did pretty good with your experiment. It seems like it was an experiment, so your usual attention to detail isn't as strong. You did really work the shading and lighting better than I would have and I think that really shines through. I think what throws me off is the face. Not having reference in front of me, I think (and I could be wrong) that Shenshen has a rounded face with a strong pointed chin. Still, the rest of it is fun. Thanks for sharing!

Somehow the colors are saturated to a level that is almost unreal! It's beautiful. I think you do have a great natural talent for choosing nice and pleasing color concepts, including dramatic lighting. Great!

Yeah, Shenshen's face is off here! and it's damn hard to get the skin color right with acrylics... (or you could say I don't know how to mix them right) well, might do these tests more, they look pretty ugly, but only way to improve is to do lots!... and I do it the way it is fun, like always!... not sure how much I can do with them, they seem a little too stiff for my taste, but maybe I'll figure something out! thank you again for commenting!...
