River Twine Holt 2015 Calendar - October

This was another collaboration with Stacy Lucas at RTH. We were assigned three female characters for our month, and decided to pad it out with a few more females in order to make an all-female hunting party -- seen here, obviously, howling with success around a kill. (The other sort of fun thing here was that Brightwood, the blond in the center, was one of the assigned characters, and we have a lot of height-differences in the tribe, so this was a way to show that. Brightwood is quite tall, whereas Honey and Fadestar are quite short.) From L to R: Honey with her wolf Mooncrier; Snowfall kneeling; Starlight, Kestrel's wolf, with Kestrel above; Brightwood; and Fadestar, with Redbrush, Brightwood's wolf behind her.
I did the rough layout sketch for this, but didn't do any features on the figures or anything. Stacy completed the sketch with all of the character details, then did the inking and coloring, all digitally. (I of course looked at lots of references of howling wolves and standing-around elk.)

Wow, the colors are so soft and this scene is gorgeous. Eregyrn, your style is still visible. A really fascinating collaboration. Thanks for sharing it here!
