Oh, this is more than just a sceptical look. This is close to jealousy. She looks like she's going to attack soon. Your choice of colours makes a strong contrast and lets her angry presence shine even more.

The contrast in colours and the faded background really pulls ShenShen into focus. Her flaming hair is just wonderful and her slitted eyes and twisted lips makes for a very, very displeased expression.

I love the hair against her skin, even though this is what she is depicted as having, but you still did a marvelous job with it. Your coloring style is very gorgeous, and I'm so glad you submitted several illos for the calendar...if not for just the greed of it to see more of your work. And I'm with you, jaRf, I think someone's dangerously treading on this ice here with her. I suspect she's not one to truly piss off (the giddy ones are usually the worst when they're THAT angry).

Great picture of this lovely lady. I sooooooo would not want to be the one she seems furious at. Wonderful coloring and the glow on her gold is mesmerizing in itself.
