I love your style, those leaves framing the picture makes it look classic.

OH I am loving the almost vector art feel of this, what a fantastic poster this would make!

Man, this again must be one of the most gorgeous pics of Rainsong ever. The framing, the colors and outline just make my jaw drop.

This is devinitely one of the more calmer emotions. She could be hopefully looking at her newborn child that she just brought to sleep with a good-night-song and now she's watching over its sleep and imagining a bright future for it.

The background really put Dewsong into focus. And the colours! They are just amazing; soft yet bold, because of the shading. Lovely

I love the coloring technique you've used. The sky with gold stars. The leaves, the shading. How sparingly you've outlined her. The piece is so beautiful. It looks so wonderful. She looks so serene and gentle. Which is why I hate saying that it looks more like Dewshine using Rainsong's clothing, and not the woman who decided to raise a family in Sorrow's End.

I think the Rainsong/Dewshine issue is the hair: I think Rainsong's is more flowing with a little wave as opposed to a curlier style. Was her face rounder? Can't recall at the moment. Either way, I am so intrigued by this illo: it seems contradictory: soft yet bold, pop art/art nouveau, lack of black outline/use of black outline, simple shading yet detailed...and that background would've looked better for my Redlance illo than what I did! Very lovely. Congratulations on making it into the calendar!

I definitely got a Rainsong vibe from this, her hair is poofier in the front and generally a bit longer than Dewshine's is. The warm shadows are lovely and the yellow outline really accentuates her well!

You caught Rainsong's gentle nature to perfection here, PHOENIX ! I really like the choices of color and how you used them in a different way than everyone else. Makes this a stand-out picture on the page and makes for easy viewing.
I do see the point about the hair not being shaggy but a (Captain and Tenel's) under wave bob. And, yes AMBERFOX, her face was rounder not heatshaped (just according to the face chart done by Wendy Pini) but I find her very recognizable for all that and adore her pose and background. |
