Nice page composition, I am really fond of the zoom-in panel. Also, it's nice that you didn't just copy-paste the smaller version of the two guys climbing.

Oh my gosh, I LOVE the choices you made on this page! I can sort of sit back and think that you *could* have just left the lower panel as-is, with the far-away view of the tiny figures, and the dialogue bubbles allowing us to hear them even though we're so far away. That certainly would have worked. But I love that you included that panel to give us a sense of overall scale, and then chose to do the close-up on the figures in this way, popping them completely out of the frame. I can also imagine deciding to do something like that, but I know that I would not have thought to approach it in such a dynamic way. This really works, and lends a real energy to the page.

Well, I´ve mentioned this is my first actual comic, and I went quite with what any comics-for-dummies book tells for the first page: establish time and place, introduce main characters in a detailed full-body shot. Popping them out of the box was the best choice for several reasons, cuz it prevents the need of another panel, losenes up the tight panel grit as well as draw even more attention to the characters in their first appearance.
*hugs her comic-for-dummies books* Looks like they´re worth their pennies after all. x3 |

Wow, makes me think about getting that too! Truly worth its money. Not that I'll ever have time to draw a comic, though. :/
