Character Sheets
by Dreamcat
I made these to adorn my character sheets at Oakleaf Holt. Since the avatars only show their faces, I wanted to show their full bodies so people get a better idea of them. The are mostly to show their differences in body. Dreamcat is built quite airy, while Sonia has muscles. Foxtrail is described as agile and quite tall for Wolfrider standards.

Interesting variation in style. These seem more comic-style to me. The character designs and also the outfits are really awesome. I am so in love with Dreamcat's "dress". With Elfquest fanart, I see many people really working with different body types, like you do as well. I think that truly makes the characters unique and not just some avatars with different hair and eye color. I always think of the animated He-Man and She-Ra series and it always makes me shudder. Terrible example of freely interchangeable character design... Of course, makes it much easier to recycle the same animation again and again...

I really like the idea of front and back views. It must make it so much easier to draw for your club. Do you color all your works in/with a computer format ? It is always so clear and clean. You have a neat little style that fits in with the WoTM and makes a fun addition to the Gallery.

Thank you so much for the praises. These look more simple in style cuz they´re small sized quickies.
I agree with treefox about the effect of considering different body types (or the lack of such). I for my part enjoy darwing them. Well, Tah-Marien, to tell the truth, I do even my lineart digitally. I usually scan only sketches and do lines and colors in Photoshop. It takes me a little more time than outlining by hand, but I´m just fussy with my lines. I don´t color traditionally cuz I really suck with paints and brushes. Markers are too expensive and after using colored pencils and the like for years, I just can´t see them anymore. The computer gives me a wide range of options and variations for coloring, so I stick to it. ^^ |
