The city of Port Royal

This is something I made for the pirate game 'Elves of Fortune' at Oakleaf Holt. The abodean version of Port Royal, located on some island of Mother´s Tears, the Djunn´s strongholt and capital of that region.
Since the original Port Royal didn´t fit our idea of the city, I made this. Though there is an actual RL reference. I used a city plan of Dubrovnik in Croatia as a guideline here and adjusted it to fit our needs.

Oooh, I love stuff like this, makes everything so much more tangible. And I love creating maps as well.

So, did. you actually research to find a suitable city or did you have Dubrovnik in mind from the beginning? It looks wonderful anyway. Nice to see all this effort put into a fictional world.

Thanks a bunch. I love doing stuff like this to blow more life into a game, and I´m also a little detail-obsessed. :p
I searched for a suiting port-town to use as a guideline and fell in love with Dubrovnik at once. It suited my idea of the town perfectly. ^^ |
