Moonlight
by Midnight
Another character in my batch of fan-elves. Moonlight needed to have a make-over as I realized her original outfit was quite dull and boring. (a pair of brown trousers, knee high boots and a sleeveless berry-colored shirt.) As I picked up a pencil to design her new outfit, I realized that Moonlight would be at home in something more femine--hence the skirt, for at least warmer weather.
She is the eldest her young peers and they kinda look up to her as a big sister. She often keeps the Chief-son (Nighthawk) out of trouble by convincing him with a soft voice of reason. Moonlight has a fondness for Nighthawk that is beyond friendship, but the Chief-son is ignorant of her true feelings for him.
She is more graceful and mild tempered than your average wild youth and her calmness is a sort of comfort for those close to her.

Moonlight seems a good name for such a mild tempered person. The outfit is wonderful. I could actually see this in nowadays haute coutour. I wish I had legs like hers!

I love your Gallery. And Yes I must also say the way you layer cloth and clothes is Really Nice. You have given credit to those who created the outfits and I agree that, for me, other people just do better on clothing design. If I live long enough I hope to do all new drawings of my Holt's Characters. Especially a character named TRUELIFE (a Healer), as I always though her Player should have gone into Costume Design. Your coloring is 'top drawer'. It always looks so professional. Happy Summer wherever you are MIDNIGHT ! ! |

Thanks for dropping a note, fellow members. It's so nice to be part of a community like this where we can share our elfy-interests.
I love to design clothes. Well.....stuff in general. Whether it's outfits or riding tack, jewelry--whatever. So thanks for you kind words. @Tah-Marien. How many holt characters would you have to do? Truelife is a cool name. I'd love to see a pix of that character. Elves are handy with their hands and capable craft-makers. I bet they'd have a lot of cool stuff, including outfits and such. Favor? Drop me a note if you get Truelife redone? That'd be cool. Hoping to go barbequing and mountain bike riding in the rocky mountains that are across the valley....I have a sweet ride. Hopefully I won't get ditched..... Cheers!!! |

I worked for a Whole Summer at the very base of those Mountains in Boulder. It was my first Everything; plane ride, away from home etc . . . I just love Colorado. I have had many opportunities to visit as my best friend lived there for almost 10 years. Happy Trails ! !

I have a few EQ friends in the Colorado area; hope you had a great barbeque and bike ride! Again, I have to agree with Tah-Marien in your coloring; it looks (as I've said) like very professional comic book work. I can easily see this in a professional publication. You also have a talent for using various colors for skin tone and making them work; whereas when I try, it just looks like someone splashed red, blue, or purple and it doesn't blend at all. Gotta work on that. Moonlight does really reflect what you were going for in a steady calmness with grace and poise. I also like the background - the framing as well as the saturated blue fading into purple and back into a lighter saturated blue. It all works wonderfully together. It really completes and compliments the overall image.

Hi there Amberfox! Nice to hear from you. I hear what you're saying about skin color. It took me forever to venture out of my different shades-of- the-same- color palette. There were some awesome digital fantasy artists that did the coolest stuff with colors I would never have dreamt of using for skin tone. I'm still working on getting it together. I imagine there's some great tutorial available on the web. It's all trial and error (hate the error part). But as an artist, you know what I mean. You do a great job. Keep up the good work.
