Dart for DestinysGift
by Wildfire
My part of an arttrade with DestinysGift
See, I was perfectly happy with this until about... five minutes before I decided it was finished. Then I realized that his waistline is tiny, even for an elf, his shoulder is weird and his eyes are WAY too small for an Elfquest elf xD It didn't help either that my scanner is too small for the paper and that the colours warped during scan (ohmygoditlookssomuchbetteronpaper)
Anyway, my first real go at watercolours in... 7? years. It's quite obvious that it's not a medium I'm used to xD

Hello nipples...
I think it looks good, I love watercolour and you honestly can't tell you haven't touched them in 7 years. |

Oh the whole mood in this is so nice! You really think the waist is too thin? I mean especially Cutter has a ridiculously think waste (this of course is a deliberate style choice by Wendy). But for EQ proportions, I think this is fitting.
I especially love his expression and how wolfish his teeth are. Great! My critique would be that his eyes might be too close together and somehow the nose angle doesn't seem 100% right. But the water colors are sooo pretty! I really hope you'll not wait another 7 years to use them again. |

I too think it looks fitting. Wow, seven years since you last touched watercolors? But they are so consistent! Love the wolfish grin.
And it is always nice to see people trying new styles and mediums. |

Thanks lovelies I definitely won't wait 7 years 'till I try again! Next time I'll leave out the kitsch white dots though. I'd only just finished those when I looked at the painting and thought "Oh my god, why did I use a tacky manga-trick" xD
Thank you everyone! |

I believe the eyes are a little too close together and thus his nose appears flat. Wow, watercolors? This is already a wonderful illo, but to be done in watercolors, too? So much braver than I! And I know how it is; scanners eat my colors all the time (well, chew them up and spit them out). I've only found one scanner that really works, which is so frustrating. He does seem a bit thin in the middle, but that's not distracting. Just say that's when he was not quite an adult; still in that slightly awkward phase but quickly growing out of it! Rather prominent nipples...
