Krim
by Miss Gillespie
Again, this one isn't finished either, but I will leave it that way.
I guess Krim is the least (fan-) loved female elf. She's neither pretty nor has she an interesting character; Krim is rather your average Go-Back female. Someone on the EQ-site called her a Vaya-substitute. I guess most would have prefered her to die instead of Skot (even though Skot is basic Wendy-male-elf-design, too).
I'm not a fan of her, either, but I wanted to try out this new hair-style (shaved sides, long hair) on her, didn't really turn out that well...

Isn't Skot a elfied tribute to Wendy's brother? Somehow I recall reading that somewhere. But anyway, I might be the oddball here, I like Krim. Chick seems to have more sense in her head than Skot did. Not really into her after Shards, but I personally think they kinda made a mess of her character, she was constantly testing her chieftess, and bringing up how Kahvi was the best, when in wendy drawn comics, it was never an issue. :/
Okay, back on topic. I think she does look like herself, with that lovely grin. Gotta love that tongue. The eyes are striking. But, wasn't she green eyed in the comic? As for the hair, I think it could look a bit better without the tufts at the sides. But Krim could rock that hairstyle very well. And actually, we don't see new hairstyles on the canon characters often, it is refreshing. |

Well, I liked Skot and Vaya was one of my favorite characters (nearly my favorite characters get killed no matter what story, darn it), but I never disliked Krim. In fact, I wondered why so many loved and featured the relationship between Pike and Skot but rarely showed Krim with either of them. If you want to breed and leave a fawn behind, you need two genders. Anyway, I admit I'm behind in my reading (as always), but up to the point I read, she seemed likeable enough. As for the illo, the only thing I can point out is that her right eye is a little higher than the left making the face just very slightly off balance. And if anyone is going to own the shaved head look, it's going to be her. Nice shadework on the face!

I got to say, I never realized that she was such an unpopular character. I think while she was not my favorite I always liked her. I like the basic idea of integrating the Go-Backs into the Wolfrider tribe. I also think she can rock that 80s look she's wearing. This hairstyle suits her perfectly! Just fitting.Nice shading and colors especially in the hair .

I totally agree with Treefox. Personally, I always liked Krim and her style, and also relationship between Pike, Krim and Skot. And I also like the hairstyle you gave Krim in this picture =) It's totally her! Love also the bright background colors.

If she is (or was) unpopular I never heard about it. Krim is easily one of my most favourite elves, I appreciate her raw edge and fearless warrior persona. I can see why some might think of her as a "flat" character but I like her simplicity--plus the fact that she has just a little more sense in her skull than Skot ever did. They way you depict her here seems to really fit her character, and I agree with Treefox, she really pulls off the 80s look. Critique-wise the only thing that springs to mind is her mouth and nose area; they are too low on her face, I think.

I think she quite often appears on lists like "most un-popular/un-sexy/un-whatever elves". Hm, I guess she also is also the elf with the smallest wardrobe (only Skywise has less outfits
Even though I enjoyed Wild Hunt as a story, I didn't really like any of the character-depictions. And I certainly didn't like that story about the spear-snatching. |
