Because the sexiest elves are done in gray scale.  :hippie

I've been sick for a couple of days, and not been in the mood for drawing. Today I needed something to fiddle with, and Newstar called to me.

Tried to do backlit lightening, not sure if I was entirely successful, but it was fun.

I don't think the backlighting was completely consistent, but it's still a good job, especially in greyscale. The shading on the face is a little distracting; something doesn't quite work there and I'm not sure what it is. I think it's the application looks like wood rings rather than shading for depth. Also the enlarging is pixelated and you can't see the work and effort you put into it nearly as well.

Yeah, when I started shading the face, I kinda forgot what kind of shading I was trying to do *smacks forehead.* When I tried correcting, it kinda blurred on me. But oh well, it really was loads of fun to do. And distracted me from the misery brought by handkerchief's.

About the size thing, that is my scanner. It usually enlarges my pictures to ridiculous sizes, and as of yet, I haven't found the right button in ps.

I feel your pain. I'm still struggling to make sense of some of my computer programs, and I got a laptop for the holidays, so more learning (argh!).

Nice work on the gray scale style, I really have the urge to pump out a few of my con sketch book styles now.  I really love gray scaling much more than color, thanks for the inspiration.  You can check out some of my gray scale works hear http://rowtiger.deviantart.com/
