Marut by Treefox

Marut is vanishing. XD
Done mostly as a watercolor shading and mixing practice, I've run out of my base skin color copic, and I don't have money for either refill or skin colors in promarkers.

I still think it's a lot of fun, and you gave that nose some depth. I understand about the colors; I have color pencils that no one seems to sell anymore and I'm down to near nubs on those. When they are gone...ew.

well, I usually use black tea as skin when I paint with watercolors! I think this looks nice, however! it looks somewhat dreamy like this!...

Amberfox: Man, that sucks. What brand is it?
Berit: Is black tea a color in a set, or do you mean the drink? |

I use several brands; much like Berit, I'll use anything that looks good and is effective! I am at work at the moment, so I can't recall what I'm looking for, but there is a bright yellow, a wonderful light tan (the BEST for pale skin tones), and a medium blue. I know one of them is a pedigree, but I don't remember which one or what the others are.

I meant the drink... Russian Earl grey has given me the best skin tone so far... it gives a sight yellowish tone, but if you mix the right amount of re watercolor to it, you can get pinkish tone as well... with Marut I use it as it is, and with Terra, I add some red to it... coffee works as well, but it gives a grayish, light brown color, and you have to be careful with it, for it is "greasier" than tea, and can ruin some linearts... if you want, I can send something here where I've used tea, inks and watercolors if that will help you...

I like this version! It's a much gentler coloring and gives me a feeling of nostalgia.
Oh, I have never tried drawing with tea. Sounds pretty neat! |

Treefox: Aww, that's nice to hear.
Berit: I had to ask, one never knows what the Berit Drawer finds useful for colorings! Well of course you can. I'd be honored. And this is not bugging, I luv comments. XD |

All this conversation about tea makes me thirsty. Hmm, but I too should try out that Russkiy, I haven't painted with tea in ages! Maybe we'll see a tea-entry from Startear, too?
