Its so cute! I always want to call Petalwing a she but she, or rather it is not a she. Nice work Windrider.

This is simply fantastic! The wing detail, the delicate shading, and the pose that suggests Petalwing is mimicking one of its precious Highthings' provocative walks. Love it.

Oh brilliant! Just as mocking-sexy and yet beautifully drawn as I expected. The pose is great! The amazing coloring of the wings... so lovely!
I do hope we'll see the 2014 calendar in it's complete form soon. |

I still don't see where the parts "quick" and "sketch" go with this, I couldn't paint something like this even if I spent hours! I really like the details on the wings.
Odd though, I've always thought of Petalwing as a male. |

Petalwing really looks like it's teasing someone, but in a playful way. I never really had a clear opinion of a gender for the screechy little bug, so I guess I managed to steer clear of that argument. I really love the play of light and shadow on it, giving it a lifelike glow. And chalk me up as another one of the, "This is a quick sketch?!" And with watercolors, even!

Ah, awesome!
I remember a few people being verrrrry skeptical of the thought of Petalwing being in the pin-up calendar, but this really does show how it can be done without being disturbing at all. SO SEXY! What? I mean those gorgeous wings, of course!
