For Berit for being brave enough to post pen sketches, I thought I'd step up and do the same. This is a quick pen sketch I made a while back during a slow day at work. I sort of have two bosses and this is the elfin (and far more attractive) version of one of them. Bear in mind, Sandy is 67, well weathered, and not in the best of health. Either way, this is just something I did to relax myself.

I still say that I'd like to see more sketches! I love to see the more basic art and ways how a certain artist draws. Love the pretty face with the awesome short hair. Again, I wish I could wear my hair like that and I wish I could draw again at work. Some nice sketches were done there. *laughs*

I generally don't sketch or draw at work. Sandy is basically a lab nazi and hates you doing anything NOT related to the job, but everyone else has the strong attitude that if you're done with everything, as long as you're in the lab, you're okay to draw, write, play on the internet, read, so long as it doesn't interfere with anyone else. Two of the other bosses have watched me draw and have merely been curious WHAT I was drawing, so I had to explain EQ to them. Anyway, I'm not sure if Sandy wears her hair short because she chooses to or if it's still because of having undergone chemo (she's had three independent bouts of cancer). If I could, I'd wear my hair like Timmain (Winnowill's is amazing, but not for the lab or walking around in public). Thank you for the comment; I'll see what I can do about more sketches.

Well, from my end, I can try and post more sketches. I'm in a drawing mood lately. I have the basic essence of Sandy in the sketch, but trust me, Sandy is a weather beaten, gaunt lab nazi. And aren't all elf-selves better looking than the human counterparts? It's certainly true in my case!

I just love her eyes, here. Very cool, severe expression, and the very very short hair just adds to that. I love short hair on females, though usually you see it done in a "cute" way, and here, it just seems ruthlessly practical. Overall adds up to a very striking character.

Glad you like it. I usually toss my pen sketches, never really happy with them, but I thought this one was okay to post. Yeah, ruthless and very cool...sounds just like Sandy. By the way, I've been transferred back temporarily to the first lab department I was hired in so I don't have to deal with Sandy for a while.
