O High Ones! This is just so... GOOD! So, so good! Might be one of my favorites from you and that is saying a LOT.
I don't know where you took the time to make him so awesome with all the calendar coordination work, formatting and real life. You, madam are truly admirable! |

Aaaaand this is why I love High Ones/Gliders/the like. The middle pose totally enthralls me. Fantastic work. |

And just as I suspected it would be...this is freakin' perfect (the sentence I used to describe how perfect, not so much).
I love your work but this has to be the best so far, the composition alone makes it wonderful and the little short shorts...well...you know what I like. |

Dayum, he is hot. And I very rarely find anyone just that.

And here I thought he couldn't look any better than in your "One Heart, One Mind, One Family" piece, but I am so very happy to be proven wrong. I adore how many aspects of Aurek's character you've managed to highlight here...his arch moments, his humor, and his dedication to purpose, all while keeping the sex appeal of a pin-up front and center. Just fabulous.

What little shorts, Maggie? A powerful glider decides to go hunting mostly naked on a hot Indian Summer day and thinks to himself that he should probably protect the tender bits even if his airborne self doesn't even need boots - and grabs a tiny scrap of leather and belts it on.
Originally he was going to be wearing only the belt, but even that size knot wasn't big enough to hide the "naughty bits." From what we see of him dressing in the Kahvi series, he definitely goes commando under those trousers - so no loincloth here! Glad you stopped by to comment, Raksha! Yes, whenever drawing a character, I try to cover many aspects of their personality (as in my Skywise too). Here, I was going for a little bit of Aurek being amused that such young, mortal humans might be lusting after his ancient bod. |

That hair! I'd go mad with those dimensions. And that pose is just... so cool. |

The movement, cohesive coloring and attention to form in this one is awesome. I especially like all of the little details: facial characteristic quirks, the bend of the lance with the weight of his arms on it, and his left foot resting against his leg.
It helps that Aurek is my favorite Glider, but this is definitely one of my favorites from the pinup calendars thusfar! |

You manage to get that all together on one piece of paper *Sighs enviously* I need to get bigger watercolor pads XD and a bigger scanner I had such a hard time splicing Shale and Eyes-High together after scanning them >.< I always love the composition of your pieces and how they work together as a whole, and I love love love his hair <3 Great work as always Windrider

First I want to say: it's gorgeous!!!
Your Work is great, as ever. All the time I was wondering, what the middle pic remindes me off. Today it hits me! Its the cover of a book I once read: "the integral trees" from Larry Niven. Some flying elflike Thing was in front off much green Land in this pose just side-inverted. I loved that pose and so do I now love yours. |

Yavia, yep, I was talking to Eregyrn about what a strange thing the human brain is. As a very visual person, I often feel that my brain sees things like poses, color combos, etc., files them away and then later spits them out again unexpectedly with me wondering where it came from.
I drew that pose mostly as is, free-hand and without reference. But it kept bugging me that I'd seen it before. I looked all through EQ trying to find it because I didn't want to "steal" it. Obviously couldn't find it. But yes, is was "stolen" (I prefer "homage" ) from the great Michael Whelan. There are some differences, but the main idea of the pose is the same. My brain obviously had that pose filed under "tall, elegant being in zero gravity/flying situation." |
