How did you pull that off with all the calendar work? So wonderful. I want to be there with Skywise.
You made the color version of that portrait work out perfectly! That is indeed a wonderful composition. I can learn from that. And yes, his butt is rather nice, isn't it? |

And an invitation to look at the stars together. |

...where to start....?
Classical painting meets Elfquest, and the result is just mindblowing. The skin tone, anatomy, everything, it's so realistic it's almost freaky, and yet EQ/Cartoonish. How you manage to do this with aquarel colors (it is aquarel, right?) I will never, ever, understand. |

@Mirror: Thanks! This is done in my usual medium: traditional watercolor (with a little gouache for details) on Lettramax Illustration board. The board was a little old and made the washes a bit more grainy that usual, but I don't mind texture. The original was something like 11 x 11 inches.

Take off your loincloth...I command it! OMG, this calendar is making me say such inappropriate things. On a less pervy note, this is beautiful and in my most favourite medium, watercolour. Sadly I was never able to make it do the things you can make it do, bravo Windrider!

Magnificent. The translucent effect you achieved with the crystals marks the high level of skill you possess.

So beautiful, so so beautiful! Your work is always perfect in my eyes, but not only is this technically stunning, you've captured Skywise to a T! You've got all his aspects here -- fun loving, sultry, charming, and with childlike enthusiasm -- sigh. I don't think I can wait till week 53 to have this one on my wall!

Not only is this the prime example of how to make the tricky composition of the square work, but it's just So. Good. The anatomy and the lighting and the crystals...I'm especially captivated by your rendering of the crystals. Oh, wow, something just occurred to me...what happens to all the originals of your painted elfquest pieces? Do you have a special ElfQuest room, or are they in storage somewhere? |

Not much of a Skywise fan, but you've done wonders with him. You tackled those difficult angles in his poses and made them look effortless and perfect. Great muscle tone, skin tone, and shading. I love the sexy pose; I could never have pulled that off without thoroughly embarrassing myself. Am I wrong or have I seen the facial of him somewhere before? Well, either way, amazing art as usual!
