I can has dilemma.
Because I hated drawing Surge in this picture so much, that I vowed never again to draw him unless the Pini's themselves paid me. So in my planned re-drawings of this series, I don't know what to do...unless I leave him out. But I'm not sure I can really justify that because he was a pretty powerful magic user...
[SPOILERS]
until he got all squished. Basically he's included because of that one splash page in Discovery where he harnesses all of Posiden's might and water tornados his tribe away. We rarely get to see magic users in the grip of a berserk rage, but when we do, awesomeness ensues.
Thus my dilemma.

I remember you moping about this pic on the SoC...
I like it's dynamics and I think Surge looks more cuddly and more comic-y here. I still think you did a marvelous job with the dynamics and colors. |

Well, I say draw what you want to. If you shudder at the thought of drawing Surge again, then don't - why do you have to justify it? (And I agree -he is a PITA to draw!)
But Treefox is right - Surge looks kind of cuddly here! |

I think someone was high when designing Surge's outfit.
He has a starfish on his chest. But yeah, the character is weird, the drawing is très bien. |
