Five of Diamonds

Zarhan Fastfire is crap to draw, really. I think the comment was made at one point that all the Elves are good-looking...well I think they were forgetting about our this firely dude. Gaunt and scrawny as all hell.
But I digress. (Why are my all my descriptions insane ramblings?)
Anyway, he's part of the card series because he was essentially the last of his kind. There hasen't been a fire-starter since him; and it has been looked at as the most unstable of all the magics. (He looks unstable too.) Plus I think he's crazy too. I think he lit a bunch of people on fire accidentally or something.

There is something in him which screams Bowie. The one which we all think is kind of hot, but a little creepy as well. The first Willowgreen which was never shown outside the anthologies pretty much claimed that he was the reason why Rahnee was so unstable.
And if I remember correctly, his father once set fire to an entire flock of birds, and eventually the fire devoured him. It never said if Zarhan saw that, but it happened when he was young (under 100 years old, which was that for the High Ones.) So he didn't have a easy life. |

Oh gosh, NOM. There's so few pictures of Zarhan and this is one of the greatest one.
I've always loved this picture. I wouldn't be surprised if he was more then little loopy. As far as i remember, he even says (in the Anthologies)that the High Ones were more then a little crazy in the end. |

Well, it's true. If it's anything Bowie-esque it's the Labyrinth inappropriate crotch bulge Bowie...

NEVER would I have though of Zarhan as character choice! That alone is pretty cool. He really does look strange. In the comics i always thought he looked quite human.
Even though I read the anthologies, I forgot that he went crazy... He looks more like he would need sleep and some nourishment. I never noticed that there was never another fire starter again. Maybe Sunstream and Brill's kid? |

@carmaleetah: Zarhan was the recognized mate of Rahnee the She-wolf. They had eight children together. He appears best in the Blood of Ten Chief's anthologies. However, only in written form, so for an artist it is not much to go by. In the comics, you only see him in the first edition.
