Flirting

Done as a trade for Nightstorm's owner Yvonne (rather belated). She had wanted to see Nightstorm as a young teen, flirting with Rainpace, on whom she had a crush. I was indebted to the feedback from both Yvonne and Rainpace's owner Peggy (Saree), which helped make this a better composition. I rather think that Nightstorm learned her flirty pose from older accomplished flirt Starskimmer, and here is trying it to see if it works; perhaps she's daring Rainpace to chase her to get his hat back. ;-) Notch, at left, is supportive.

I think that standing and breathing next to Notch would be counted by him as flirting. ;-) Notch is, as they say, "always ready". But I think that's part of Rainpace's surprised look; he's used to his buddy being the target, not him.

On a technical note, since I don't flirt, I'd imagine that it must be a lot more fun to flirt with one who doesn't expect it.

Sweet! How could I miss this yesterday?
I think the "story" of the picture comes out very well. All the characters play together naturally and Rainpace's expression is just too cute. Lovely elves, lovely outfits, lovely colors! May I ask what brown you used for Rainpace's clothing? |

 I'll have to look it up to make sure when I'm home, but I think it was something like E-15 (dark suntan), E-25 (caribe cocoa) and E-27 (africano). It was in that range of the reddish-brown colors, as opposed to what I think of as the "cooler" brown colors (which have higher numbers in the "E" line). But not the "copper" ones (I initially used them on Nightstorm's pants, but they looked TOO red in the final scan, so I colored-corrected those in PS.)

Thanks a lot! I don't have E-15 and E-27 yet. I think I might get one of them on my next Copic shopping trip. When I was drawing Rain for the calendar, I noticed that I lack a lighter warm, not too yellow brown. So I am happy for the tip!
