I wanted to do a picture that was kind of 'Thumbelina'`esque and this is what came of it. Copics (still adjusting to them -- just got some), a bit of pencil crayon, and a bit of acrylic paint. 2011.

Haha, I gotta admit I definitely did think of Thumbelina the moment I saw it. But I like your design much more. The bird (tomtit ?) doesn't look like a scary clown and I like that.
Also so nice to see a pic that so mirrors the weather and feel we currently have here.
And your elf lady is just looking so perfectly pretty and happy! Great colors!
It's very clever to have the bird going slightly out of the frame.
Give me more any time ;D

This is adorable! You seem to have your Copics well in hand. The sky is rich and the mood is light and fabulous.

The bird is based loosely on the goldfinch I've been seeing in my back yard - I think he's a messanger of sorts what with his little satchel and lines of silver bells tinkling to say he's on his way. As to the composition - I'm glad you like! I wanted it to have as much feeling of freedom and sky as possible. That and I don't like drawing inside the lines :P Thanks for the kind comments!
