Fancy Dress

(This piece will seem a little familiar from the "figure blocking" thread in the forum, where I showed the progression of the Easysinger figure.)

Did this recently just because I had the idea and wanted to play with it. I have always liked the ceremonial robes that Wendy designed for Cutter and Leetah in the first issue of "Kings of the Broken Wheel", and wanted to do something like that, but I didn't want to just copy them... well, okay. I *did* want to just copy them, but I didn't think I should.   ;) So I played around with the concept.

This is Blacksnake with his (now dead) lifemate, Easysinger, who was chieftess at the time, both done up in fancy-dress for some kind of ceremonial occasion (I haven't decided exactly what; could be New Green Bliss prior to all the body-painting, or... after it, I don't know). Rather than a Spring/Autumn duality, which I think the canon outfits kind of represented, this is more of a Sky/Earth thing. I kind of meant for the feather's of Easysinger's robes to be from a swan or snow-goose, something like that.

Pentel Pocket-Brush pen inks, Copic marker coloring, effects in PS.

I am happy that I'm not the only person liking the ceremonial robes of Leetah and Cutter. Your concept behind this is beautiful. The earth and sky concept really works well. To me it seems to be also reflected in their poses. Easysinger touching the tree pointing upwards and Blacksnake touching his wolf confirming the bond with the earth. Just lovely!

Haha, I myself never liked those robes much, but I like these a lot better! I like the themed element in them, they do not look alike and there's more thought and detail behind them.
