Descent into the Depths of the Soul
by Amberfox
Another story illo for "Descent into the Depth of the Soul." A small hunting/scouting party from HGI sought refuge from a massive storm in long abandoned caverns. Staying through the day, each elf feels another reaching into their minds, their dreams. It is Nightsong, a very impressionable and easily manipulated rockshaper, that is coaxed and summoned by the last of the High Ones from the caverns. He awaits wrapped in preserver silk, not knowing the fates of his friends and family. They have forgotten him, but now these have arrived. When he is freed by Nightsong, the story REALLY begins. And it ain't pretty for our adventurers. This is Nightsong cutting the High One free from his cocoon with angry preservers trying to stop her. Nightsong is Dana Evan's character in HGI, run by me.

Again, it's old with a lot of flaws, but a lot of work went into it, so why not. This is also one of my rare profile illos.

Thank you, ladies! While I can see the problems with this, your comments are encouraging me to do more work, and hopefully BETTER work. The wrist is behaving, so I'd better get to it!
No, Spearcarrier, please don't hide under a rock - I'm running out of places to hide the bodies (re: page 27 of your comic). |

Actually, this story was printed quite some time ago. If I have an extra copy of the newsletter, I can send it to you, if you like. It's a really well written story; The Verb is so good at that! Thank you for the compliment, I try!
