Right love, wrong time

These are characters from Zonnemeer Borg and Zomerbron. When reading this prompt (see title) at the Sketch Fest, I had to think of the situation these two were in; my boy Lispel on the left, and Zonnestraal. They recognised each other when Zonnestraal first came to Zomerbron, but Lispel's body was too young at that moment to fulfill the recognition. So they had to wait. A few years. Didn't make the feeling any less strong...

Again your brilliant line work shines! This tender scene is so beautifully done. The way Zonnestraal holds Zomerbron's face... I love it! I really like that you always use different styles for your drawings. Whether if its digital coloring, traditional pencils, inks, it always turns out lovely!

Thanks! Sometimes I feel I want to "preserve" a drawing better by inking it. But while doing this drawing I remembered why I do so much pencilwork lately; it hurts my hands less than inking does. But I like the variation. :]

Lispel's colors can be seen here: http://home.planet.nl/~liero194/zb/karakters/lispel.jpg eyecolor is grey. And Zonnestraal's here: http://www.elfquestfanart.com/MGalleryItem.php?id=715 eyecolor is lilac (the skin and haircolor of toddler Zoetgras in this picture are the same as Lispel's - Zonnestraal has a permanent tan, but slightly lighter than sunvillagers). Also, that necklace of Lispel is sandcolored on the outside and the middle part is darkbrown. |
