Fishing trip
by Afke
This picture I made for the calendar 2011 project at RiverTwine Holt. We were assigned a month and three characters (to ensure every elf was included somewhere). I got October and Evervale, Windsong and Newt.
I found out they had fishing in common, so I wanted to try an action shot. I also wanted to show that the elves are not perfect, so it's not going entirely flawless. My favorite part are the grassstains actually.
The background was a lot of work, and it doesn't look anything like the photo example I used, but I like the result!

Oooh, the autumnn mood here is wonderful! The elves fit in perfectly and I especially like how the water reflects the tree and sky color.

Indeed this is very autumnal. Even though it looks colourful it has a strange melancholy to it. At least for me. But at least the elves seem to have fun spearfishing.

LOL, I love this! The girls' expressions look like "Um... " and the one on the right (Newt?) just looks like he's thinking "I'll get it! I'll get it!" - but it leaves me half-expecting him to be about to take an unexpected dunk himself if he keeps running! =D
I like the effect of the background, too! It's detailed, yet simple, and being simple makes the whole picture look... I don't know... happy? Carefree? Whatever it is, this picture is great! |

Thanks all! The water was quite a challenge, but going over it several times with this light greenish hue really helped blending it all.
