Winter fun
by Saree
Blacksnake "attacked" by his grand cubs Cinder and Glow (River Twine Holt again).
The background is awful, but I am no use when it comes to snowed in trees.

Haha, Blacksnake's expression here is wonderful. Playing along while also seemingly smiling to himself at the playful behavior of his grandcubs.

Group illos - hurray! The interplay between the characters is a lot of fun and it's nice to see elves at play. They genuinely look like they're having a great time.

Since you requested level 2, I don't think you did a bad job with the background. Winter scenes, especially as snow laden as this one, are often stark and bleak. I think you captured that well, and then contrasted that with the joy of the elves. The one thing, however, I noticed was that there seems to be a spatial issue. Glow should have been drawn lower in the plane in relation to Cinder to show she's more in the background, unless she's atop a fallen log under all that snow. Cinder doesn't appear to be looking directly at Blacksnake, and almost appears to be behind him so that snowball will not hit his grandfather (lucky for Blacksnake).

Thanks Amberfox. Yeah, you are right, Cinder does not look at BS... I realized it too late . Hm, what about a hill? Would that rescue the perpective?? No, just kidding. I will learn... one day.

Hmmmm... perhaps another snowball-victim is just "off-screen"... Hehehe! Anyway, I love this picture! It has good movement, and the cubs are obviously running (or trying) through the snow, while Blacksnake is sinking in almost up to his knees and having to stomp along a bit slower.

I don't think that is a bad attempt at drawing winter background! my first ones were worse, and I live in Finland! Also love the scene itself! it's always fun to see characters interacting with each other!...
