Illo for "Unbound"
by Eregyrn
This was done as a SeSa piece for Lova, who recently adopted Windsong at RTH. This is an illo for Whitney's story "Unbound", which was a recent pivotal character moment involving a change of hairstyle.
This is my second recent experiment with a night scene -- something I mentally "cracked" with a previous piece and am trying to refine. I still have a ways to go with it, but it's fun to learn along the way. This was done in brush-pen inks and Copic marker color, and then the lighting effects were created in Photoshop. Also added in PS (besides the sky and stars) were the steam effects, courtesy of a nifty set of free steam brushes I discovered and am playing with. (If you'd like the link for them, ask me.) Some things I like about this, some I don't quite, but it's a step in the process.

This is sexy and lovely. There is something about long-haired women in baths that I find very endearing.
I think you're handling the night colors very well. I'm still quite at a loss when it comes to coloring night scenes. |
