Pinvis under water
by Afke
Pinvis swimming for Drawing Day 2010!
I'm not sure the effect is quite what I was going for. I found a great photo for reference, but it was in a pool; I think for it to have a natural effect I should've made it all darker.

I say it again. This is very impressive! I can't believe how much this gives me the "underwater" feel! The shadings are amazing and heck... the whole expression of this picture makes me want to go swimming!

I agree with what Windschatten said. Fabulous underwater effect. Maybe a few air bubbles in the plane of the water for a more 3-D effect, but everything else is great.

It's perfect as-is. Underwater-swimming can be quite a bright affair in nature as well, so no need to darken it, imo.
As always, your way of rendering elven anatomy, so life-like, and yet "elfy", amazes me. But yes, like Multimedea says, some bubbles might add even more to the picture. Not that it's really necessary though |

I agree, this is a very nice piece of work. I also agree with the bubbles for effect.
