ElfQuest Fan Art

This was an illustration for a story I wrote. Suntop is showing Cutter a pottery bowl that he made.

Starting on a project to collect all my EQ-related artwork here. I will just do a few at a time to not flood the gallery.

One thing I love about EQ is all the what - ifs.  Been wanting to try this one for awhile. Not quite what I want yet, but good practice.

Here's the final version that I posted to the Elfquest facebook page. Still kinda rough, but I like it.

I was trying to use a different eye shape here, really trying to make it more cat/dog shaped. Started with the eyes, then sketched in the face and thought it ended up looking like Ember.  

This was trying something new - starting with just blocking out the colors with no outline. Was practicing my quick sketching so I think I spent about 5 minutes on this one.

This came to me this morning and I just had to draw it. Don't know why.

The hands suck, but otherwise I think it's ok.

Playing a little with contrasts. The contrasts of coloring between Cutter and Rayek as well as the contrasts between shadow and light. Not quite as bold in the shading as I originally intended, so I may go back and play with it a little more. But I'm lazy, so probably not.

This was a drawing I did for Stargazer (Paper Ghost here) for the secret santa exchange on the Scroll of Colors forum.

I think that Pike is too often looked at as only comic relief. I wanted to honor his position of memory keeper of the tribe.

This is an illustration for one of my stories.

This was the first EQ drawing I'd done in about 20 years and was pleasantly surprised that it came out half-way decent.

Drew this and for some reason always thought that it seemed like the moment before recognition. Then noticed that their recognition is portrayed almost exactly the same in Elfquest. So, original..not!
