Argh. This illo has taken me way too long to finish, but here it is. This is the completed version of Amberfox - Microbiologist! which was posted previously. Final version simply has that damn background of my lab bench and other background shaded. Sadly, since I've finished this, a lot has changed. My facility is trying to be certified by some super special international lab group, so gone is the labcoat and much of the stuff on the bench. Damn lab nazis.

Holly Batman O_O All that details. The shading and all that. It reminds me so much on the old illustrations of the comics I had as a kid.
I really admire your work with ink. Just amazing!

I can see what took you so long. I'd never had had the patient or motivation to finish such a piece.

Hmm I pondered long where I had seen your style before. But I think... you could have drawn that portrait of Viper from Mist Valley Holt ...

I agree with Windschatten..a really  detailed illustration. I really wonder about why I do not regonize the type of the pipet..damn. ;)

And dont worry about this certifications^^ after one weak you can have your workspace just as usual. I'm so glad we had our "inspection" last month - they really dared to tell us our floor is too dirty (but its only rubber from the sole of the shoes...and can't be wiped from the floor 0.o)

It is an Abcam pipet, I guess. ;)
Good job!

Thank you, Windschatten! With how my scanner gobbles up color, black and white seems to be the way to go. Yeah, I drew myself into a corner with this illo; I will never draw my lab again. I certainly will never draw our new labcoats; looks like we were all assaulted by an angry mob of vicious sherbert scoops (but they smell like last week's leftover Chinese food).

Yup, that was me. I drew the illo of Viper that was posted for Mist Valley Holt. I cringed when I read that; that illo was extremely ancient. Sorry you remembered it.

Tiru, there are two pipettes I generally use in the lab on a regular basis (two other on occasion). One is a regular pipette, the other is a flywheel or "pump" pipette. It's a plastic tube with a little plastic wheel on the side used for suctioning and releasing fluids. They're not commonly used anymore, but I have to use them several times a week due to a couple tests I run.

Our certification is still in the works. My pit boss - er, lab supervisor - told me he's happy with what I'm doing, keep it up, and I'll do just fine. Works for me. Right now, our biggest problem is every scrap of paper on the bench or shelf MUST be labeled as a control form, even a reminder note to ourself to take out the autoclave trash. Sheesh!

Abcam pipette is a brand, but I suspect they manufacture the flywheel (pump) pipette. Thanks, Saree!

Chieftess Sorrell: I was laughing the entire time I sketched this thing (the laughter stopped when I had to ink it in). I just envisioned Amberfox doing this (although the barefeet...ew) and having the time of his life. It IS a shame we don't use the bunson burners in here; he'd have enjoyed torching things as well.
