"Live..."
by Foxeye
For her half of an art trade, Icebird requested either Longfin or Irralee. I decided I wanted to illustrate a scene from the Wavedancer's Lost Tales where Longfin swims her nearly-dead son back to the shore.
I'm rather proud of one aspect of this picture...that it's my first time doing night-colors without resorting to a photoshop filter!

I still don't know things about the wavedancer's, but this picture really stunned me with the amount of feeling there is... the sorrow mixes well with the peaceful night...

beautiful work, in many ways, the faces show the desperation of the moment, the night sky is awesome

The mood is just perfect! The night colors, the desperation and the balance between cold and warm colors. Wow! I also love how Longfin's dress really looks wet the way it sticks to her body a seems semi-transparent. What gorgeous work.

I agree, nice to see Longfin's dress wet. It is a pet peeve on mine when characters in a movie is in the water, snap to next shot, where they are as dry as can be. The night sky is very good, I'm glad you dared to not use the night filter. I love the nose bleeding, and the mix of desperation and exhaustion on Longfin.
